In front of the cortijo is a patio, and at one end a small terrace with shading vine and very fine views to the south and the Guadalfeo valley. At one end of the building are two store rooms. The upper plot, a little more than half the total area, and on which the cortijo is located, has been meticulously cultivated, with many types of fruit trees (citrus, olive apple, pear, cherry) and vegetables. The lower plot is more natural. At the upper end of the upper plot is a 36,000 litre alberca (water deposit) which stores irrigation water for agricultural use. The land is south facing and there are spectacular views to the south of the Guadalfeo valley. Cañar is a pretty peaceful village with shop, town hall, pharmacy etc. It is located twenty minutes drive from Orgiva, a town of 5,000 people with many facilities.
